Mid Carolina Radio

a website for broadcasters

Mid Carolina Radio is designed to be a history of Alamance and Rockingham County radio stations told in text, audio and pictures. It’s the story of those stations and the people who worked there, especially when all of the stations were locally owned and operated.

The website is l be made better by your pictures, audio cuts, stories and input. Your help is also needed to make sure the information contained is historically accurate.

SPRING  2015

A Message from MidCarolinaRadio:

For nearly four years now, our mission at MCR has been to collect any material we could find about the golden years of radio stations in Alamance and Rockingham counties. It is a small niche, but thanks to our many contributors, we have a good collection of information about those stations. It's very likely we have most of what is out there, but we will continue to search out new items.

The website is under contract with our host until September 2017. At that time, a decision will be made about its future. Until then, please consider MCR as a source of history and memories about what we experienced back in the day.  If you would like to be notified when new material is posted, CONTACT US HERE and we will update you as requested.

You can find our latest additions on the  What's New page. We recently lost two pioneer Rockingham County broadcasters, John
Compton and Don Carroll Elliott.

As always, we welcome your input. You can send material directly to me at rlcrews@triad.rr.com or use the contact link below to send me a message only.  Thanks.
